ACE Journal of Neurosciences (ACEJN) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and originality. The journal has a zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, and other forms of research misconduct. All submitted manuscripts are screened for originality before entering the peer-review process.
Plagiarism Screening
Every manuscript submitted to ACEJN is screened using Turnitin or an equivalent similarity detection software to identify potential plagiarism, duplicate publication, and text overlap with previously published works.
In addition, authors are required to submit a plagiarism (similarity) report generated using Turnitin or an equivalent plagiarism detection software at the time of manuscript submission.
Author Responsibilities
Authors must ensure that:
- The submitted manuscript is original and has not been published or submitted elsewhere.
- All sources are properly cited and acknowledged.
- Direct quotations are appropriately identified.
- Permission has been obtained for the use of copyrighted material where required.
- The submitted plagiarism report accurately represents the final version of the manuscript.
Failure to submit a plagiarism report may delay the editorial assessment or result in the manuscript being returned for completion.
Editorial Assessment
The Editorial Office carefully reviews the similarity report before the manuscript proceeds to peer review. Similarity percentages are evaluated in context, and editorial decisions are based not only on the overall similarity index but also on the nature and source of the matched content.
Manuscripts may be rejected if they contain:
- Plagiarism.
- Self-plagiarism or redundant publication.
- Excessive unattributed text overlap.
- Duplicate publication.
- Any other form of academic misconduct.
Ethical Compliance
ACEJN follows the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) when investigating suspected plagiarism or other forms of publication misconduct.
Where necessary, the journal may request explanations from the authors, seek institutional clarification, reject the manuscript, or take additional editorial action in accordance with established ethical guidelines.
