ACE Journal of Neurosciences (ACEJN) is committed to ensuring the publication of high-quality, scientifically sound, and ethically conducted research through a rigorous and transparent double-blind peer-review process. The journal follows internationally recognized best practices and adheres to the ethical principles and recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE).
Initial Editorial Assessment
Upon submission, every manuscript is screened by the Editorial Office to determine whether it:
- Falls within the journal's scope.
- Complies with the journal's author guidelines.
- Meets ethical and scientific standards.
- Is sufficiently original and suitable for external peer review.
Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected without external review.
Double-Blind Peer Review
ACEJN follows a double-blind peer-review model, in which the identities of both the authors and the reviewers remain confidential throughout the review process. This approach promotes fairness, impartiality, and objective evaluation while minimizing potential bias.
Each eligible manuscript is assigned to at least two independent experts with relevant subject expertise. Reviewers assess the manuscript based on:
- Originality and novelty
- Scientific quality
- Research methodology
- Statistical analysis
- Ethical compliance
- Clarity of presentation
- Validity of conclusions
- Relevance to neuroscience and related disciplines
Editorial Decision
After considering the reviewers' comments and recommendations, the Editor-in-Chief or the assigned Academic Editor will make one of the following decisions:
- Accept
- Minor Revision
- Major Revision
- Reject
The final decision is based solely on scientific merit, ethical standards, and the overall quality of the manuscript.
Revision and Resubmission
Authors receiving revision requests are expected to submit a revised manuscript together with a detailed point-by-point response to the reviewers' comments. Revised manuscripts may be sent back to the original reviewers for further evaluation when necessary.
Ethical Standards
ACEJN follows the publication ethics and editorial best practices recommended by COPE and ICMJE. Any concerns regarding plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, image manipulation, authorship disputes, conflicts of interest, or other forms of research misconduct are handled according to established ethical guidelines and the journal's editorial policies.
Confidentiality
All submitted manuscripts, reviewer reports, editorial correspondence, and related documents are treated as strictly confidential. Information is accessible only to the editors, reviewers, and authorized editorial staff directly involved in the peer-review and publication process.
