The journal follows the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and expects authors to comply with all applicable institutional, national, and international regulations.
Human Rights
Research involving human participants must be conducted ethically and with full respect for the dignity, rights, safety, and privacy of participants.
Authors must ensure that:
- The study has received approval from an appropriate Institutional Review Board (IRB), Ethics Committee, or equivalent authority before the research begins.
- The research complies with the principles of the Declaration of Helsinki and other applicable ethical guidelines.
- Informed consent has been obtained from all participants before their inclusion in the study.
- For minors or individuals unable to provide consent, permission has been obtained from a legally authorized representative.
- The privacy and confidentiality of participants are protected throughout the research and publication process.
- Personally identifiable information is not published unless explicit written consent has been obtained.
Animal Rights and Welfare
Research involving animals must be conducted responsibly and in accordance with internationally accepted standards for animal care and welfare.
Authors must ensure that:
- All animal experiments have been approved by the appropriate Animal Ethics Committee or Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), or an equivalent authority.
- Animal studies comply with applicable national and international guidelines for the ethical care and use of laboratory animals.
- Experimental procedures are designed to minimize pain, distress, and unnecessary suffering.
- The number of animals used is scientifically justified and kept to the minimum necessary to achieve valid research outcomes.
Editorial Assessment
The Editorial Office may request copies of ethical approval letters, informed consent documentation, or additional supporting information during the editorial or peer-review process. Manuscripts that fail to demonstrate compliance with ethical standards may be rejected.
Non-Compliance
ACE Journal of Neurosciences reserves the right to reject, withdraw, or retract any manuscript if there is evidence of non-compliance with ethical requirements relating to human participants or animal welfare. Allegations of unethical conduct will be investigated in accordance with COPE recommendations and the journal's editorial policies.
